题目:Recent Research in the Biometrics Research Center, HKPU 报告人:Dr. Lei Zhang (张磊博士) Associate Professor Dept. of Computing The Hong Kong Polytechnic University 时间:2010年12月9日(星期四)14:00 –17:00 地点:蒙民伟楼109室 摘要:This talk introduces the recent research progress in the Biometrics Research Center (BRC), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. There are three parts in this talk: 1.Some new biometric techniques recently developed in BRC, including high resolution fingerprint recognition, 3D palmprint recognition and finger-knuckle-print recognition. 2.Some image segmentation methods recently developed in BRC, including maximal similarity based region merging, dynamic region merging and level set without re-initialization. 3.Sparse representation and its applications in image restoration and patter recognition, including dictionary learning for sparse representation based face recognition, and adaptive sparse domain selection and regularization for image deblurring and superresolution. 报告人简介: Lei Zhangreceived the B.S. degree in 1995 from Shenyang Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, Shenyang, P.R. China, the M.S. and Ph.D degrees in Automatic Control Theory and Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, P.R. China, respectively in 1998 and 2001. From 2001 to 2002, he was a research associate in the Dept. of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. From Jan. 2003 to Jan. 2006 he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering, McMaster University, Canada. In Jan. 2006, he joined the Dept. of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, as an Assistant Professor. Since Sept. 2010, he has been an associate professor in the same department. His research interests include Image and Video Processing, Biometrics, Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, Multisensor Data Fusion and Optimal Estimation Theory, etc. Dr. Zhang is an associate editor of IEEE Trans. on SMC-C, a leading guest editor of EURASIP Journal on Image and Video Processing, Special Issue on Emerging Methods for Color Image and Video Quality Enhancement, and a guest editor of Neural Computing and Applications Special Issue on ICIC2010.
